Four friends play a game of croquet on visiting Ireland. . . and another (crappy) husband bites the dust.

The Cardboard Cottage Sleuths win a trip to the Emerald Isle with a group of compatriots in book #4 of this best cozy mystery series. They may dream of castle ruins, fairy houses, and the hunt for family roots, but when a wedding ends in  murder, they must befriend the Garda Síochána to help solve the crime.

When  is a maid not a maid? That's the riddle Amy must solve before the killer  can be brought to justice as the handsome Garda O'Shannon hopes.

Everyone has something to hide, including her friend  Doris. Suspects mount and so do the bodies, threatening to ruin their visit to the Emerald Isle. Between the croquet theme and the banshee  screams, Amy realizes her precognitive snippets have followed her to  Ireland. And, maybe even brought her closer to her family roots. Could  her grandmother hail from an ancient Celtic tribe? Will Rian find her long-lost clan? It's all within the realm possibilities in the land of  lore, legend, and flannel.

Zelda gasped again. “You think she’s a spy?”

Amy burst out laughing. “A spy? Why would a spy be here?”

“Well, you never know,” Zelda said. “Spies are like that. They show up in unexpected places and unexpectedly get killed. I knew there was something odd about that woman.”

“Odd? You mean other than the ice pick wounds in her back?”

“She didn’t have on the right shoes,” Zelda said, her lips pursed in a righteous pout. “She had on a pair of Girotti! What woman in her right mind wears handmade Italian heels to scrub toilets and make beds? I know that brand. I’d recognize that clunky block heel anywhere. She wasn’t wearing tights, either. And that’s just not a good look for a maid.”
